Q: What’s the difference between a Co-Parent and a Caretaker?
A: A Co-Parent is a trusted caregiver with expanded access—similar to the primary parent account for that child. A Caretaker has more limited access intended for caregivers like grandparents or babysitters.
Q: How do I invite a co-parent or caretaker?
A: In the Grow app, go to Settings > Family Management and follow the prompts to invite a co-parent or caretaker.
Q: How many people can I add to my child’s caregiver team?
A: You can add up to 1 co-parent and up to 3 caretakers per child.
Q: If I have more than one child in the app, do caregivers get access to all children automatically?
A: No. Each child’s caregiver team is set up independently. Caregivers only see the child they were assigned to.
Q: What can a caretaker do in the app?
A: A caretaker can view the live stream for the child they’re assigned to.
Q: What can a co-parent do that a caretaker cannot?
A: Co-parents have broader access. For example, only parents and co-parents can add information to a child’s profile.
Q: Can I change a caregiver’s access later?
A: Yes. You can edit caregiver settings later from the caregiver/family management area of the app.
Q: Can caretakers or co-parents add or edit my child’s profile?
A: Caretakers cannot. Only the parent account and the co-parent can add information to the child’s profile.
Q: Can a caretaker view or manage camera settings?
A: Caretakers can access the monitoring view for the child they’re assigned to. For camera/account-level changes, use the parent/co-parent role.
Q: My co-parent/caretaker didn’t receive the invite email. What should we do?
A:
- Confirm the invite was sent to the correct email address (no typos).
- Ask them to check Spam/Junk/Promotions folders.
- If they use work email, confirm it isn’t blocking automated emails.
- Try resending the invitation from Family Management.
Q: The invite link isn’t working or says it expired—what should we do?
A: Ask the parent to resend the invitation from Family Management. The caregiver should use the most recent invite email.
Q: The caregiver accepted the invite but still can’t see the child’s stream. What should we do?
A:
- Confirm they are logged into the app with the same email address that received the invite.
- Ask them to fully close and reopen the app.
- If needed, log out and back in.
- If it still doesn’t appear, customer support can verify the caregiver’s status.
Q: Can multiple people watch the live stream at the same time?
A: Multiple caregivers can be invited to the same child, so multiple people may have access.
Q: Can I remove a co-parent or caretaker?
A: Yes. You can remove caregivers from the caregiver/family management area in the app.
Q: Can I switch someone from caretaker to co-parent (or vice versa)?
A: If role changes aren’t available as a direct “edit,” remove the caregiver and re-invite them with the correct role.
Q: Can a caregiver access the monitor from more than one phone?
A: Yes. A caregiver can log into the app on multiple devices using the same account credentials.
Q: Will co-parents/caretakers get notifications?
A: They can receive notifications based on their app settings and their phone’s notification permissions. If notifications aren’t arriving, confirm both in-app notifications and phone notification permissions are enabled.
Q: I’m divorced/separated — can we both have access without sharing a password?
A: Yes. Use the co-parent invite feature so each person can access through their own login.
Q: Can I invite a babysitter temporarily?
A: Yes. Invite them as a caretaker and remove access when it’s no longer needed.
Q: Why can’t I add any more caregivers?
A: Each child has a limit of 1 co-parent and 3 caretakers. If you’ve reached the limit, remove an existing caregiver before adding a new one.
