When the unit is turned on, the green indicator light will illuminate and turn off after 20 seconds of inactivity. If a timer setting is selected, the amber LED light will illuminate and will turn off after 20 seconds. You will notice a gentle "ding" sound to indicate either the volume has reached the max setting or to indicate that you have flowed through all the sound choices and are back to the beginning.
